a year of thanks
As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on all the interesting jobs and people I’ve gotten to work with this year. 2023 has been a unique journey – one filled with incredible opportunities, challenges, and growth. As a professional photographer, I have been fortunate to work with a diverse array of businesses and universities, each with its own distinct story to tell.
To the businesses I’ve collaborated with, from startups to established corporations, thank you for entrusting me with the visual story of your brand. My time with Swartley Bros. Engineers and Ballinger come to mind, but that’s only scratching the surface. Every corporate event, lifestyle marketing shoot, and portrait session allowed me to delve into the essence of what makes your businesses stand out. Capturing the energy of your events, the intricacies of your products, and the personalities behind your brands has been both an honor and an invigorating challenge. Your confidence in my ability to show your brand's unique message through photography has been incredibly rewarding – and humbling.
To the universities and educational institutions, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your campus community. From our local hotbed of academic institutions (like Villanova University and Malvern Prep and so many more) as well as farther away (like Guilford College). Documenting the vibrant campus life, from graduation ceremonies and classroom sessions to the everyday hustle of academic life, has been a true joy. These moments are not just about celebrating achievements but also about capturing the spirit of learning, the camaraderie among students, and the dedication of educators and staff alike. I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to preserving these moments in time.
Working with each one of you has been a valuable experience in itself. I have witnessed the adaptability, imagination, and resilience that drives creative teams in both the corporate and academic worlds. These experiences have enriched my perspective as a photographer and have allowed me to push my own creative boundaries.
I also want to extend my appreciation for the professionalism and cooperation of everyone I’ve come across this year. Whether it was coordinating with marketing teams, collaborating with event planners, or engaging with students and faculty, your synergetic spirit has been essential in the success of each project.
One of the greatest rewards of my job is seeing the impact that my work has. From enhancing your marketing materials and websites with dynamic images to providing lasting memories of significant events, the feedback I have received has been both humbling and motivating. It reaffirms my belief in the power of photography to tell stories and connect people.
As we step into the new year, I am excited about the prospect of continuing these relationships and building new ones. The ever-evolving landscape of business and education always presents new stories to tell and new moments to capture (in new ways!), and I am eager to be there, camera in hand, to partner with you.
